PHONE SCAM - CALLER ID SPOOFING 🚩:

We continue to hear reports of scammers claiming to be a Manatee County Sheriff's Office deputy and requesting payment in the form of credit, debit, or gift cards due to an outstanding warrant.

They are using a strategy known as "Caller ID Spoofing" to make it appear as though the call is coming from the actual MCSO phone number - (941) 747-3011.

The most important RED FLAG to recognize in these cases is that deputies will NEVER ask you to provide payment to get out of a warrant. This is a scam!

If you receive a call like this, hang up and contact the Manatee County Sheriff's Office at

(941) 747-3011 to report the call.
