Why-FDEP
Manatee County does not have “jurisdiction” or authority over mangroves (so we’ve been told). We don’t have any removal permits for them either.

When mangroves are within a drainage swale/utility easement area that area would be considered exempt per the State’s code. But if a homeowner wants something in writing from the State verifying it is ok to remove from a utility easement, they can apply for a verification of an exemption and they’ll get essentially a “no objection” in writing
